SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Heavy Freight.
Strict Timelines.
At Delmarva Containers, we coordinate heavy logistics to ensure your unit arrives safely and on schedule. Because we are moving massive steel infrastructure, standard parcel tracking does not apply. Review our strict fulfillment and delivery parameters below.
Delivery Methods
Tilt-Bed Standard
Our primary delivery method. The truck backs into your designated spot and the trailer tilts, allowing the container to slide off gently. Requires roughly 60 feet of straight clearance for a 20ft container, and 100 feet for a 40ft container.
Flatbed Commercial
Used for bulk orders or specialized commercial drop-offs. The container arrives on a standard flatbed trailer. You must provide a heavy-duty forklift or crane on site to offload the container. Drivers do not offload flatbeds.
Shipping Locations & Costs
We currently offer freight delivery exclusively within the Contiguous United States. We do not ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, Hawaii, Alaska, or international locations at this time.
Shipping Rates: Delivery costs are dynamically calculated at checkout based on the total mileage from our nearest dispatch depot in Wilmington, DE, to your exact delivery address. There are no hidden fees—the shipping rate shown at checkout is final.
Jobsite Preparation
The success of your delivery depends entirely on your site preparation. By placing an order, you agree to the following conditions:
- Solid Ground: Delivery trucks weigh upwards of 30,000 lbs. Surfaces must be firm (concrete, asphalt, or compacted gravel). We will not drive over mud, wet grass, or deep sand.
- Overhead Clearance: The route to your drop site must have a minimum of 14 feet of overhead clearance to avoid power lines and branches.
- Failed Deliveries: If our driver determines the site is inaccessible or unsafe, the delivery will be aborted. The customer is responsible for the original shipping fee plus a return-to-depot fee.
Order Tracking & Dispatch
Once your order has passed structural inspection and is loaded onto the truck (Handling Time), you will receive a Dispatch Confirmation email.
Because this is specialized heavy freight, automated tracking links (like UPS/FedEx) are not used. Instead, our dispatch team or your assigned driver will call the phone number provided at checkout 24 hours prior to arrival to confirm the exact delivery window.
